Two CMA CGM Vessels for Damen Shiprepair Brest
Damen Shiprepair Brest (France) was contracted for the regular dry docking and special survey for two CMA CGM container vessels: Fort St. Marie and Fort St. Louis. Damen Redelivers Seven Vessels to HamburgSüd
In October 2012 Damen Shiprepair Rotterdam (DSR) won the contract for installing the first Becker Twisted Fin on seven container vessels of the fleet of Hamburg (Germany) based liner shipping company Hamburg Süd. To complete the project in time, the vessels were routed in such a way that they could each be dry-docked for a maximum of 6 days every consecutive week. All ships have now been re-delivered. The first vessel starting the cycle, MV Santa Catharina, was expected the December 30, 2012.

Lady sponsor Annemie van der Ven- Scheeren, who named the ‘Coastal Voyager’ of Acta Marinein Amsterdam (The Netherlands) on 28th February, has not taken her task lightly. Damen Introduces Anti-Fouling Foil
Port of Amsterdam starts with sustainable film on patrol vessel. Damen Shipyards (Gorinchem, Netherlands) and the Port of Amsterdam are launching a pilot project to test Thorn-D, a relatively new antifouling film that is applied to ships’ hulls below the water line. The film has an expected lifetime of five years. That is much longer than conventional antifouling coatings, which need to be replaced every six months on average.

Damen Acquires French Ship Repair Yard
As of this week, Damen Shipyards Group is the new owner of French shiprepair yard Arno Dunkerque, the only operator for ship repair and conversion in the 3rd largest French port, Dunkirk. The yard will continue its ship repair and conversion services. Tankship Repair Contracts for Damen Shiprepair Brest
Damen Shiprepair Brest contracted to dry-dock a high-quality trio of Scandinavian tankers, other work too in a busy yard. After the successful execution of the contracts on the Bonny Gas Transport ‘LNG Sokoto’ and the LNG carrier ‘Lalla Fatma N’Soumer’, Damen Shiprepair Brest has contracted three new dry docking operations. The Finnish Suezmax Tanker ‘Alfa Brittania’, the Norwegian Suezmax Tanker ‘Erviken’ and the Swedish VLCC ‘Stena Perros’ will docking early/mid November 2012.

Kotug International will shortly be putting two new Damen Azimuth Tractor Drive Tugs 2412 into operation into the German Port of Hamburg. Damen Launches its First Ever Hybrid Tug
ASD Tug 2810 Hybrid cuts fuel and emissions by at least 20%. Damen Shipyards has launched its first ever hybrid tug - the ASD Tug 2810 Hybrid - and is proud to announce that Iskes Towage & Salvage will be the launching customer. The signing ceremony took place today (October 23), at Offshore Energy in Amsterdam. The pioneering Dutch shipyard group is believed to be the only yard worldwide building hybrid tugs for stock.
