Damen Shipyards Group acquires Shipdock
As of this week, Damen Shipyards Group is the new owner of Dutch ship repair yard Shipdock. Shipdock, a well-known shipyard group with roots dating back to 1877, operates facilities in Amsterdam and Harlingen. The yard will continue its ship repair and conversion services, with Shipdock Harlingen servicing ships up to 120 m and Shipdock Amsterdam servicing vessels up to 250 m. Tailor-made Combi Freighter ‘Hoogvliet’ launched. DAMEN Shipyards Group daughter Damen Shipyards Bergum can be proud of the delivery of Damen Combi Freighter 3850 ‘Hoogvliet’. The carrier for oversized cargo was launched at Cruise Terminal Rotterdam last Saturday by lady sponsor Annefleur Janssen. She is the daughter of one of the participants of the business alliance, which will deploy the vessel in European waters. The main participants are Hartel Shipping and Hudig & Veder.

Damen Acquires French Ship Repair Yard
As of this week, Damen Shipyards Group is the new owner of French shiprepair yard Arno Dunkerque, the only operator for ship repair and conversion in the 3rd largest French port, Dunkirk. The yard will continue its ship repair and conversion services. Furthermore, its personnel and management will remain in place, guaranteeing a seamless transition of the yard into the Damen Shipyards Group, which currently consists of more than 45 shipyards, repair & conversion yards and related companies.

Tankship Repair Contracts for Damen Shiprepair Brest
Damen Shiprepair Brest contracted to dry-dock a high-quality trio of Scandinavian tankers, other work too in a busy yard. After the successful execution of the contracts on the Bonny Gas Transport ‘LNG Sokoto’ and the LNG carrier ‘Lalla Fatma N’Soumer’, Damen Shiprepair Brest has contracted three new dry docking operations. The Finnish Suezmax Tanker ‘Alfa Brittania’, the Norwegian Suezmax Tanker ‘Erviken’ and the Swedish VLCC ‘Stena Perros’ will docking early/mid November 2012.
Damen Delivers Two Azimuth Tractor Drive Tugs 2412 to Kotug
Kotug International will shortly be putting two new Damen Azimuth Tractor Drive Tugs 2412 into operation into the German Port of Hamburg. These tugs were ordered by Elisabeth Ltd in Malta and are being chartered by the Kotug Group. Kotug is a fast growing towage company expanding its innovative services to ports and terminals in Europe (Rotterdam, Hamburg, Bremerhaven), West-Africa and Australia. Recently Kotug started towage activities in the new German deep sea port Wilhelmshaven.
Damen Launches its First Ever Hybrid Tug
ASD Tug 2810 Hybrid cuts fuel and emissions by at least 20%. Damen Shipyards has launched its first ever hybrid tug - the ASD Tug 2810 Hybrid - and is proud to announce that Iskes Towage & Salvage will be the launching customer. The signing ceremony took place today (October 23), at Offshore Energy in Amsterdam. The pioneering Dutch shipyard group is believed to be the only yard worldwide building hybrid tugs for stock. The second hybrid vessel will be available from stock end-2013.

Damen Delivers Cutter Suction Dredger 450 ‘Fen He’
A Damen CSD450 dredger was shipped within 3 weeks from receipt of the order. The environmental cutter suction dredger is right now on its way to Taiyaun, China, where it will arrive well in time to assist in fighting the sedimentation problem of the Fen river. The CSD450 dredger will be called ‘Fen He’, which means “River Fen” in Chinese. It will be based in Taiyuan in the Shanxi province in northern China. There, the river Fen leaves the mountains and flows through the city.

Patrol Boat Delivered by Damen to Albanian Coast Guard
The Stan patrol boats were ordered by the Albanian Ministry of Defence. Their main purpose is to execute patrol duties and Search and Rescue missions in territorial waters. The project included extensive knowledge transfer and the reconstruction of a naval shipyard. The first ship of the Stan Patrol 4207 project was built in the Netherlands and delivered to the Albanian Coast Guard in August 2008.
