Damen Set to Launch New PSV Series
Damen Shipyards will unveil its new Platform Supply Vessel (PSV) at EUROPORT 2011 and will launch a complete PSV range in the next few months. The PSV 3300 E3 is a dedicated supply vessel to transport supplies to oil and gas rigs and is specifically designed to perform safely in adverse weather conditions. The first two vessels will be built at the renowned Damen shipyard in Galati, Romania. Delivery is scheduled for early 2013.

Damen Shipyard Milestone with ASD Tug 3212
Damen Shipyards have delivered the ASD tugs ‘Karloo’ and ‘Kalarka’ to Half Tide Marine Pty Ltd of Australia. The tugs were built to the highly successful ASD Tug 3111 design, which in common with most Damen vessels, has been the subject of constant research and improvement. Including ‘Karloo’ and ‘Kalarka’, Damen has delivered twenty tugs built to that design, which will now be replaced by the new ASD Tug 3212.

Damen Delivers Last of 29 Vessels to Serco
A three-year, 29-vessel contract came to an end as the last tugboat of the huge Serco contract was named SD Deborah at the Damen headquarters in Gorinchem on 3 December 2010. Due to be deployed at Devenport, one of the main bases of the British Royal Navy, the SD Deborah was the smallest ASD tug in the order, which has included pilot boats, tugboats, high-speed craft, barges and a worldwide support vessel. SD Deborah is one of four sister tugs.
Damen Fast Ferry 4212 for South-Korea
Recently Damen Shipyards Gorinchem (Netherlands) received an order for a DFF 4212 for Seaspovill in South Korea. As Damen has this type of ferry on stock the vessel has a short delivery time. The vessel’s hull was already built by Afai Southern Shipyard Guangzhou (China) and thereafter it was transported to Damen Shipyards in Singapore. From this Damen yard the vessel named Seastar is now being completed and will be delivered in South Korea next February.
Multraship Takes Delivery of New Damen Tug
Towage and salvage specialist Multraship has bolstered its fleet of specialised tugs and multi-purpose vessels with the addition of the Damen newbuilding ASD 3213 tug Multratug 3. On September 30, the vessel will embark on its delivery voyage from Vietnam, where it was built by Damen Shipyards, to Terneuzen, Multraship’s home port in The Netherlands. Thereafter it will be employed principally in the River Scheldt area in a harbour towage and salvage role.
Serco Takes Delivery of 27th Damen Vessel
Serco took delivery of its 27th Damen vessel in the Port of Amsterdam as a three-year contract for 29 vessels nears completion. In 2007, Serco placed the multi-vessel order with the Damen Shipyards Gorinchem to enable the international services to support the British Royal Navy at its bases in Portsmouth, Devonport and the Clyde. The order included pilot boats, supply boats, tugboats, high-speed craft and barges. All of the vessels are specifically built for the naval contract.

Construction to Start on New Damen Vinashin Shipyard
On 19 August 2010 the signing ceremony for the start of construction of the new shipbuilding facility of Damen Vinashin Shipyard in Haiphong, Vietnam took place in the head offices of the Vietnam Shipbuilding Industry Group (Vinashin) in Hanoi. Damen Stan Tug 1606 for Jan De Nul
Dredging company, Jan De Nul, has had 11 Damen Stan Tugs join its fleet in the last few years. In 2008, Jan De Nul placed an order for five additional Stan Tugs after another major order in 2007 when the Belgian firm ordered six Stan Tugs, as well as four Damen Fast Crew Suppliers. To be delivered over a period of 18 months, the five latest vessels have all been built at Albwardy Marine Engineering in Dubai, one of Damen’s joint venture shipyards in the Middle East.

Damen Choose Ultrajet & Jetmaster
Damen Shipyards Gorinchem has completed a new high speed craft which is available in two options - the Damen Stan Patrol 1204 and the Damen Fast Crew Supplier 1204. This craft replaces the Damen AluCat 1104 and the 1204. The Damen Stan Patrol is built in both aluminium and GRP and has been built to carry out patrol, surveillance, SAR and crew supply duties. Damen’s design criteria included operational versatility, strength, speed and ease of build.
Anglo Dutch Award for Damen Shipyard
On Tuesday, November 25, Damen Shipyards Gorinchem was awarded the Heineken Trophy, an initiative by the Netherlands British Chamber of Commerce. The Trophy was presented to Erik van der Noordaa, COO of the Damen Shipyards Group, by Jean-François van Boxmeer, Chairman and CEO of Heineken. In the presence of the British Ambassador the prize was awarded to Damen as a result of an increasing level of export of vessels to the United Kingdom over a sustained period of time.
