Diana Shipping Inc. (NYSE:DSX), a global shipping transportation company specializing in dry bulk cargoes, today announced that it has agreed to purchase from an unaffiliated third party the MV "Corona", a 2007 built Panamax dry bulk carrier of 73,593 dwt, for a price of US$29.99 million. Fosnavåg-shipping company Olympic Shipping contracting newbuildings at Kleven Maritime to 380 million. NOL Group Reports $10M Q1 Net Loss
NOL Group, the Singapore-based container shipping and logistics company, today reported a first quarter 2011 net loss of US$10 million compared to a net loss of US$98 million in the same period last year. NOL said first quarter 2011 revenue was US$2.4 billion, up 16% from a year ago. First quarter Core EBIT (Earnings Before Interest and Taxes) was US$13 million, compared to a Core EBIT loss of US$74 million in the same period last year.

Statoil has forwarded its investigation report following a crane and lifting incident on the Gullfaks A platform in the North Sea on 28 February this year. One person was injured in the incident. In connection with a normal lifting operation from the loading deck to a supply ship, a roustabout was struck in the shoulder by a container. The roustabout was sent to the hospital, where a broken collarbone was confirmed.
