Sietas shipyard hands over second suction dredger christened 'Eke Möbius' to Josef Möbius Bau-GmbH in Hamburg. The Eke Möbius is 118.47 metres long with a displacement of 6.8 metres and has four diesel engines that together develop 6,760 kW. It can dredge at a depth of up to 35 metres. This dredger has cargo capacity of 7,350 cubic metres and has a transit speed of 13 knots. While suction dredging it has a top speed of two knots.

Bobo (T-AK 3008) made a final port visit to Rota, Spain in late September, marking the official disestablishment of the 28-year-old squadron. Voith has received a major order for the delivery of 60 variable-speed planetary gears type "Vorecon." The Vorecons will enter service in offshore production on the oil fields on the huge pre-salt cluster in the Atlantic approximately 300 km outside Rio de Janeiro. The operator is a consortium led by the Brazilian mineral oil group Petrobras. Production of the first Vorecon at Voith in Crailsheim is already underway. Delivery of the first gears is scheduled for November 2012.
