Kleven Maritime Contract with Olympic Shipping

Fosnavåg-shipping company Olympic Shipping contracting newbuildings at Kleven Maritime to 380 million. With this contract Kleven Maritime has a backlog of 10 ships to a total value of 3.7 billion

Contract with Olympic Shipping Kleven Maritime confirms its position as the largest Norwegian-owned shipbuilding group. This is the group's second contract in two weeks.

Vessel will be delivered in November 2012 and hosted the third of three similar vessels, where the first two were ordered in August 2010 and January 2011. The ships are of the design MT 6015 from the Marine Engineering and is a multi-user platform service vessels.

CEO Ståle Rasmussen Kleven Maritime has moved in recent years a larger proportion of home-building process to the United States, and has thus gone against the flow of Norwegian shipbuilding.

"I am delighted that Olympic Shipping well enough to build a vessel with Kleven Maritime. The contract will lead to broad cooperation with local suppliers, including Hare Electrical Systems and Rolls-Royce Marine. Cooperation with quality local actors is essential to succeeding in moving more of the home building process, "says Ståle Rasmussen, President of Kleven Maritime.

With this contract the ship owner Stig Remøy Olympic Shipping vessel contracted for 1.4 billion with Kleven Maritime.

"The ship will be included in what is undoubtedly one of Norway's most modern fleet of offshore vessels, and represents a new generation of modern vessels, where safety and the environment is seen even more of high importance," emphasizes Stig Remøy.

Vessels represent a new generation of environmentally friendly and reliable platform service vessels. With ice class ICE 1B vessel will be well suited for northern regions, and advanced equipment for oil recovery (REC OIL - NOFO) will increase the attractiveness of the market. Dead weight is about 4800 tons, length 93.8 meters, width 20 meters and deck area is 1060 m2. Vessel can accommodate 60 persons and will be built under the new SPS Code, with facilities that makes the vessel highly suitable for ROV and construction projects.
