Huntington Ingalls Industries Reports Q1 Results
NEWPORT NEWS, Va., May 11, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Huntington Ingalls Industries, Inc. (NYSE:HII) reported first quarter 2011 sales of $1.68 billion, down 1.6 percent from the same period last year, and operating margin of 5.0 percent, essentially flat year over year. First quarter earnings per share was $0.92, up from $0.85 in 2010. New business awards for the 2011 first quarter totaled $1.7 billion, bringing total backlog to $17.4 billion as of March 31, 2011.

Keppel FELS Limited (Keppel FELS) has secured contracts to build two high-specification KFELS B Class Bigfoot jackup rigs from returning customer Gulf Drilling International Ltd. (q.s.c.) Cargotec Delivers Cranes for Volstad OCV
In April Cargotec secured an order to supply two active heave-compensated (AHC) cranes for Volstad Maritime's large offshore construction vessel (OCV) on order at Bergen Group Fosen shipyard in Norway (hull 89), which is scheduled for delivery in the second quarter of 2012. The contract comprises a 250-tonne MacGregor AHC subsea crane and a 15-tonne MacGregor AHC offshore crane. The advanced OCV is an ST-259-CD design from Skipsteknisk, and is 125m long and 25m wide.
Sinopacific’s Zhejiang Shipyard Starts SPP17 PSV Ship
On the morning of May 9, 2011, Sinopacific Shipbuilding Group’s Zhejiang Shipyard started work on the manufacture of the SPP17 PSV series of offshore support vessel for France’s Bourbon Company. This is the eighth ship to be manufactured on the company’s small ship line, and this ship is to be certified by American Bureau of Shipping (ABS). The SPP17 PSV ship is another model autonomously designed by Sinopacific Shipbuilding Group, following after the SPA80 AHTS ship.
