Nournews reported that the Iranian Navy frigate Sahand completely sank on Tuesday, in shallow water, in Bandar Abbas' southern port, after being briefly repositioned on Sunday, following its initial capsize. The rope that held the Sahand warship together broke, and the vessel has now sunk.

The Ministry for Emergency Situations reported on Sunday that 49 people drowned on Saturday in water across Russia as scorching temperatures blanketed large areas of the country. The Russian state news agency RIA reported that 10 drownings occurred on the same date a year earlier.
