Indonesian Navy Selects VSTEP Bridge Simulators
For training of its Sigma Class Corvette bridge personnel, the Indonesian Navy and Ministry of Defense selected VSTEP to supply two Class A NAUTIS Full Mission Bridge (FMB) Simulators for its Kobangdikal marine training facility in Surabaya. The Indonesian Navy is currently modernizing its fleet to more effectively combat maritime crime and piracy. Beginning 2012, the Indonesian Navy added several Sigma Class Corvettes to its active fleet.
Rolls-Royce to Supply Propulsion for Neptune Lines
Rolls-Royce won a contract to supply its Promas propulsion system for two new car and truck carrying ships which are being built in Korea for Neptune Lines. Promas is an integrated propeller and rudder system that increases efficiency and manoeuvrability. Container terminal operator Grup TCB has selected process automation and engineering specialist Orbita Ingenieria to automate the truck gates at its flagship facility, TCB - Terminal de Contenidors de Barcelona. The contract will see Orbita supply its GateSuite optical character recognition (OCR) solution to automate 10 new entry and exit truck lanes being built as part of a major expansion program at the leading Spanish container terminal.
