Teekay Tankers Order Four Tankships from Korean Yard
Teekay Tankers orders 4 LR2 product tankships from STX Offshore & Shipbuilding with options for 12 more. The agreement is for STX of South Korea to construct four fuel-efficient 113,000 dwt Long Range 2 (LR2) product tanker newbuildings for a fully built-up cost of approximately $47-million each. The agreement also includes fixed-price options for up to 12 additional LR2 newbuildings that can be declared over the next 18 months.

InterMoor to Construct Service Base at Açu Superport, Brazil
InterMoor do Brasil Serviços Offshore de Instalaçao Ltda (InterMoor), an Acteon company, was awarded a construction license to build facilities at the new Industrial Complex of Açu Superport located in São João da Barra in northern Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Construction of the Service Base will commence in April 2013. The facility will be built on a 52,300 square-meter plot at the right bank of the terminal’s inland channel (TX2).

Ingalls Gulfport Facility Reaches Milestone
Huntington Ingalls Industries announced its Ingalls Shipbuilding division achieved a milestone in the construction process of the composite hangar that will be used on the U.S. Navy's second Zumwalt-class guided missile destroyer, Michael Monsoor (DDG 1001). Recently, the shipbuilders at the company's Gulfport, Miss., facility turned the inverted hangar to an upright position, or ship-shape, which is an important and necessary feat in the construction schedule of this component.
