Wilhelmsen Gets Shipping Company of the Year
“Wilhelmsen Ships Service’s position as a front runner in the marine market is confirmed,” said the company’s Sales Director for Africa, Middle East and Black Sea (AMB), Nikolai Norman, as the company scooped the Shipping Company of the Year Award at the annual ShipTek Maritime Awards in Dubai in April. Norman collected the prestigious award for Wilhelmsen Ships Service at a ceremony at Crown Plaza in the Emirate state on 19th April.
Cargotec’s New MacLux Series of Lighting Equipment
Cargotec’s MacLux lighting system for cargo holds uses LED technology to produce a high light output from a low power input. “MacLux is an easy and cost-effective way to increase the safety of working conditions on board by adding light to areas where it is needed, for example cargo holds and lashing bridges, possibly also on RoRo car decks,” said Janne Suominen, Product Manager for new products, Dry Cargo. “We started the development project following feedback from our customers”.

Fossekall/Dompap contract to Subsea 7
Statoil has awarded Subsea 7 a contract for marine installations and pipe-laying in connection with development of the Fossekall/Dompap discoveries off the coast of Helgeland in northern Norway. The contract value is around NOK 970 million without options and extra charges due to the weather. Discovered one year ago, Fossekall will also make it possible to develop the earlier find Dompap. This is Statoil’s fifth fast-track development and the largest so far.
