Crew Vessel Contracted to Shell
UK-based crew transfer specialist High Speed Transfers (HST) announced that its second new high-speed crew transfer vessel HST Sofia will be contracted by Shell to support its exploration program in the Black Sea commencing March 2019.The FCS 2710 vessel, built by Dutch shipbuilder Damen, will be trialed by HST to undertake oil and gas crew transfers to support the Noble Globetrotter II drill ship.

Jack-up Completes Major Crane Refit
Brave Tern, the 132-meter jack-up operated by Fred. Olsen Windcarrier AS, has completed a major crane refit at Damen Shiprepair Amsterdam.The main operation was the insertion of a 20-meter section into the main boom of the 800-tonne crane, allowing it to reach a height of 120 meters. This upgrade now allows it to install and maintain the next generation of wind turbines.The operation to insert the additional section took 30 days in total.
Damen to Equip Chile's Antarctic Research Vessel
Damen Marine Components has won a contract to supply steering gear, rudders and stern tube parts for an Antarctic research vessel of the Chilean Navy, under LRS -Polar 5 Class notation. The contract was awarded by ASMAR Talcahuano Shipyard, Chile.
