Incat Crowther Design 10-Boat IUV Order

Incat Crowther say they supported Strategic Marine in their winning technical proposal for the construction of ten 42m Infield Utility Vessels (IUV) for Brunei's PTAS Marine, and the first boat has now been delivered. Strategic Marine called in Incat to assist in their technical proposal for the project, committing to a timeframe of just 15 months from contract signing to the delivery of the ninth vessel. The tenth boat will be retained by PTAS as a backup vessel throughout the contract period.

Green Award for inland shipping said it achieved a milestone on February 17, 2014 when it handed over its 500th nr certificate. Robert Baack, COO of IMPERIAL Shipping Holding GmbH, received the Green Award certificate nr 500 during a festive ceremony on board of the DB Haniel 14 in Duisburg (Germany). The certificate issued for inland barge the Imperial Gas 91 was handed over to him by Green Award’s managing director Jan Fransen.

Today in U.S. 1962 – Lt. Col. John Glenn, USMC becomes first American to orbit Earth. His flight in Friendship 7 (Mercury 6) consisted of 3 orbits in 88 minutes at a velocity of 17,544 mph with the highest altitude of 162.2 statute miles. Recovery was by USS Noa (DD-841). 1962 - USS Dixie (AD-14) rescues lone crewman aboard a sailing yawl adrift for four days. 1974 - S-3A Viking ASW aircraft (carrier jet) introduced officially, given to VS-41.
