Development Agreement Reached for Mobile Powership
Polaris Shipping Co., Ltd., Korea Midland Power Co., Ltd., Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Ltd., and Siemens Energy Solutions Ltd. signed a Memorandum of Understanding at COEX Intercontinental Hotel in Seoul on December 10, 2013 to develop Mobile Powership, an integration of shipbuilding and power generating technology in which a highly efficient power generating facility will be installed onto a FSRU (Floating Storage Regasification Unit) for the very first time in the world.

Inmarsat Launch First Satellite in the Mobile GX Network

Ocean carriers have returned to ordering vessels between 8,000-10,000 teu in large numbers, suggesting that either overcapacity is brewing ahead, or unusual service developments are in the pipeline.

Adriatic Marine Order Six More DP-2 OSV's
Raceland, LA-based Adriatic Marine LLC inform they have contracted Master Boat Builders, Inc., of Mobile, Alabama, for the construction of six 220â-class DP-2 Offshore Supply Vessels (OSVs). Construction is scheduled to begin in January 2014. Delivery of the first vessel is scheduled for the first quarter of 2015, with deliveries of the five subsequent vessels following every four months thereafter.
