Statoil Awards Drilling Services Contracts
Statoil has extended its contracts with Schlumberger Norge AS and Baker Hughes Norge AS for integrated drilling services. The extensions are valid for two years from the autumn of 2010.
Tracerline Marksman Ulltrasonic Tool
Tracer Products has introduced the Tracerline Marksman ulltrasonic diagnostic tool, an instrument that converts and amplifies inaudible ultrasonic sound into audible “natural” sound. The Marksman uses a two-tiered process to ensure accurate diagnosis. First, the receiver unit converts inaudible sound into audible sound using a process known as heterodyning. Then, the receiver’s Sound Signal Technology fine-tunes the audible sound into the natural sound emitted by the defect itself.

FloaTEC Singapore Pte Ltd (FloaTEC Singapore), an equal joint venture between Keppel FELS Ltd (Keppel FELS) and J. Ray McDermott (J. Ray), has signed a contract worth about $1b with the Papa-Terra Joint Venture, consisting of Petrobras and Chevron, to build and operate the P-61 Tension Leg Wellhead Platform (TLWP). This follows shortly after a Letter of Intention for the unit was issued by the Papa-Terra Joint Venture to FloaTEC Singapore in October 2009.

USS Ashland Loads Supplies for Haiti
Amphibious dock landing ship USS Ashland (LSD 48) moored at Naval Station Guantanamo Bay, Cuba Feb. 1-2 to on load food, water and supplies for the Haiti relief effort. Ashland took on more than 200 pallets of supplies, including more than 35 cases of bottled water, approximately 10,000 meals-ready-to-eat (MREs), baby food, baby diapers, mail for service members in Haiti and essential maintenance parts for U.S. ships providing the relief efforts in the area.

Bollinger Delivers 55K BBL Tank Barge
Lockport, La., Bollinger Marine Fabricators, L.L.C., a Bollinger Shipyards, Inc. company, has delivered the M 6000, a 55,000 barrel (bbl) Oil Pollution Act of 1990 (OPA’90) compliant tank barge, to Midstream Fuel Service, L.L.C., a wholly owned subsidiary of Martin Resource Management Corporation. Contract terms and conditions were not disclosed. The 55,000 bbl tank barge, M 6000, was built at Bollinger Marine Fabricators, L.L.C., in Amelia, La. and is a Bollinger design.
