Bristol Harbor Group Designed Deck Barge

Argosy Transportation Group, Inc., Bellaire, Texas, has signed a contract with Trinity Marine Products, Inc., Madisonville, La., to build the Jean-M 2501, a 250-ft by 54-ft by 12-ft inland deck barge. The vessel, designed by Bristol Harbor Group, Inc. (BHGI), will have a 3,000 pound per square foot (PSF) maximum allowable deck load, and will primarily service the inland project cargo market. Argosy has chosen BHGI’s Houston affiliate, Bristol Harbor Group South, Inc.

$5M Support Vessel Refit Contract

Ferguson Modular, a supplier and manufacturer of offshore accommodation solutions for the energy industry around the world, has awarded a $5m contract for refit and refurbishment work on its new accommodation support vessel. The company, a division of the Ferguson Group, is investing $39.2m in its accommodation support vessel which arrived from South East Asia into Port Glasgow in December 2009, and anticipates the work by Ferguson Shipbuilders Ltd at Port Glasgow being completed by June 2010.

Ciane Returns to Çiçek for Second Vessel

The Italian shipowner Ciane Spa has purchased a second double-hull bunker tanker from the Turkish shipbuilder Çiçek Shipyard. The vessel is due to be handed over to the Italians at the beginning of February and will start bunkering operations immediately. In May 2009, Çiçek delivered Chem Flower, the first of a series of four 3,100dwt IMO II chemical tankers it had had under construction for its associated shipowning company White Tulip Shipping, to Ciane.
