Employees of Jo-Kell Inc., a local electrical distribution and engineering Company, presented two local charities with donations collected over the past month at their facility on Tuesday, November 11, 2008. Bill Giermak and Martha Stewart of St. Mary’s Home for Disabled Children, as well as Karen Joyner, CFO for the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia were on site to accept the donations from Jo-Kell employees.

Statoil - Operatorship on the Faroes
StatoilHydro was awarded operatorship of a large exploration area in the third Faroese Licensing Round on Dec. 8, 2008. StatoilHydro has a 50% stake in the license. The partners are DONG (30%), Faroe Petroleum (10%) and Atlantic Petroleum (10%). The area covers 5312 square kilometres, the largest license ever to be awarded in Faroese waters. No drilling commitments are imposed under the license, but StatoilHydro will gather seismic on the acreage.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia welcomed the delivery of its two Austal-built 289 ft high speed vehicle-passenger catamarans, “Riyadh” and “Cairo” during a handover ceremony in Jeddah attended by King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and the Egyptian President Mohammed Hosni Mubarak. Ordered by the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Finance in 2007, the vessels are a gift to the Egyptian Government, and will assist in improving the standard of ferry services across the Red Sea.
