Cruise Ship Marco Polo Leaves Damen Shiprepair
Damen Shiprepair Vlissingen (DSV), part of Damen Shiprepair & Conversion (DSC), has said farewell to Marco Polo, the 800 passenger cruise ship owned by Global Maritime and operated by Cruise & Maritime Voyages. Rimorchiatori Riuniti Orders Damen ASD Tugs
Italian tug operator Rimorchiatori Riuniti has recently placed an order with the Damen Shipyards Group for two ASD Tugs 2913. Rimorchiatori Riuniti operates more than 100 vessels across a range of maritime sectors, including harbor towage and offshore. Amongst the company’s fleet are a number of Damen vessels. The most recent Damen vessel to join the Rimorchiatori Riuniti fleet was an ASD Tug 2411, delivered to the client in September 2014.
Damen Unveils Next Generation RHIB
At this year’s Europort event in Rotterdam, the Damen Shipyards Group unveiled the latest addition to its portfolio: the RHIB 1050, a 10.5 x 3.35 meter multimission vessel designed to serve as an independent platform or as support for a larger patrol vessel. The RHIB 1050 was developed at Damen Shipyards Hardinxveld – no stranger to such vessels having provided numerous examples to the Royal Netherlands Navy over the years, the shipbuilder noted.
Damen Trading Launches New Website
The new website for Damen Trading, the brokerage department of the Damen Shipyards Group, integrates Damen corporate house-style as well as an improved profile of services that includes registration, transport and even vessel modifications if required. It also offers trade-in terms for owners looking to buy a new Damen vessel. Damen Trading specializes in tugs and workboats with a global network consisting of ship owners, ship operators and co-brokers.
Royal Moroccan Navy Turns to Damen for First Tug
The Royal Moroccan Navy has taken delivery of a Damen Stan Tug 2208. The 22-meter long vessel, named Al Mounkid, is the first tug to join Morocco’s sizeable naval fleet. The Royal Moroccan Navy has a fleet consisting of frigates, offshore patrol vessels, training vessels and hydrographic, amphibious and auxiliary vessels. Its fleet, however, did not include a tug of any sort. In the past, Morocco’s Navy has turned to third party tug operators for towing, moving and mooring services.

BTӦ Orders Damen ASD Tug
Sweden-based BogserTeam Ӧresund (BTӦ), part of MarCon gruppen, recently signed a contract with the Damen Shipyards Group for the delivery of a Damen ASD Tug 2810. MarCon gruppen is currently experiencing growth and is undertaking a program of renewal and expansion to its fleets. The ASD 2810 is currently being built on series at Damen Shipyards Galati in Romania. The completed vessel will be delivered to the client in June 2016, after which she will sail under her own keel to Sweden.

Damen ASD Tug Delivered to Clyde Marine
Clyde Marine Services has taken delivery of its first Damen ASD Tug, the shipbuilder announced today. The Damen ASD 2310 has been named CMS Warrior, and she will join a 12-strong fleet of tugs and crew tenders at the Scottish company. Based in Greenock, Scotland, Clyde Marine Services was established in 1913 and has a long history of working with Damen vessels. The first experience of a Damen vessel was when the marine services company bought a Damen Pushy Cat in the mid-eighties.

Damen Builds RoPax Ferry for Canada
The Damen 80-meter ice class RoPax ferry MV Veteran handover to the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador (GNL) took place in St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada on October 23, 2015. Launched earlier this year by Damen Shipyards Galati in Romania on March 27, the vessel will start services from Fogo Island and Change Islands before the end of November. MV Veteran was delivered from the shipyard on time and within budget.
