Damen ASD Tug Delivered to Clyde Marine

Clyde Marine Services has taken delivery of its first Damen ASD Tug, the shipbuilder announced today. The Damen ASD 2310 has been named CMS Warrior, and she will join a 12-strong fleet of tugs and crew tenders at the Scottish company. Based in Greenock, Scotland, Clyde Marine Services was established in 1913 and has a long history of working with Damen vessels. The first experience of a Damen vessel was when the marine services company bought a Damen Pushy Cat in the mid-eighties.
Multraship Orders Damen Tugs at Europort

Towage and salvage specialist Multraship, through its 100-percent-owned subsidiary Novatug BV, has commissioned the construction of two Carrousel Rave Tugs (CRTs) as well as a new ASD 3212 tug from Damen Shipyards Group. Officially ordered today at a signing ceremony at Damen’s stand at the Europoort exhibition in Rotterdam, the new vessels aim to provide operators with more power, more freedom and more durability, as well as eliminating the risk of capsizing under a tow load.

Damen Builds RoPax Ferry for Canada

The Damen 80-meter ice class RoPax ferry MV Veteran handover to the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador (GNL) took place in St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada on October 23, 2015. Launched earlier this year by Damen Shipyards Galati in Romania on March 27, the vessel will start services from Fogo Island and Change Islands before the end of November. MV Veteran was delivered from the shipyard on time and within budget.

BigLift Shipping’s heavy-lift vessel Happy Star arrived in the Port of Rotterdam bringing with her Damen’s largest transportation of stock vessels to date; a total of 22 vessels. Included in the Damen transport are two Fast Crew Suppliers 2610, one ASD Tug 2310, three ASD Tugs 2411 and three ASD Tugs 3212, all of which have been sold and will be delivered to clients upon arrival. Additionally, there are a number of completed vessels available for sale.

Press release - In January 2014, an order was placed with Damen Shipyards Group for two Platform Supply Vessels (PSV). The first vessel, Mamola Reliance, was delivered in February 2015 and is currently in service, managed by PROMAR, in the West African market. This second vessel, Mamola Defender, is expected to be operational in the same region. The naming ceremony of the vessel took place on September 23, 2015. The Wei-Li crane ship slipped her lines at Damen Shiprepair Dunkerque on Friday, September 11, to make the short trip up to Rotterdam after 10 days of maintenance and repairs. The 141-meter, 18,330 DWT crane ship required special dock bed arrangements, not least because of the 3,000-metric-ton crane mounted on her stern and her unconventional hull form. A total of 225 blocks were required, along with an additional 56 steel pillars of up to 7 meters in length to support the stern.
