Morten Engelstoft has been appointed CEO of Maersk Tankers with effect from January 1, 2014 following Hanne B. Sørensen’s appointment as CEO of Damco. Morten Engelstoft has also been appointed CEO of Services & Other Shipping which consists of Maersk Supply Service, Maersk Tankers, Svitzer and Damco. Maersk Tankers is one of four businesses in Services & Other Shipping which consists of Maersk Supply Service, Maersk Tankers, Svitzer and Damco.

NAVSEA Completes Waterjet Seal and Evaluation on USS Fort Worth
Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and Southwest Regional Maintenance Center (SWRMC) divers recently completed the first full underwater waterjet seal and evaluation on a littoral combat ship (LCS), USS Fort Worth (LCS 3), the Navy announced, Jan. LCS class ships are unique to the U.S. Navy because they use waterjets instead of propellers for propulsion. Each waterjet draws seawater in through a duct, increases the water's pressure and then ejects it, causing the ship to move.

Shell Acquires Repsol LNG Portfolio
Royal Dutch Shell plc has announced the completion of the acquisition of Repsol S.A.'s liquefied natural gas (LNG) portfolio outside North America for a headline cash consideration of $4.1 billion. As part of the transaction, Shell will also assume $1.6 billion of balance sheet liabilities relating to existing leases for LNG ship charters, substantially increasing the shipping capacity available to Shell's LNG marketing business.
