Teekay Announces Senior Management Change
Teekay Corporation announced that Geir Sekkesaeter, Senior Vice President, Conventional Fleet Operations, and Head, Technical, Safety and Quality, has decided to leave Teekay for personal reasons, effective as of March 31, 2013. Mr. Sekkesaeter's responsibilities have been transferred to the respective Business Unit Presidents of the Conventional, Shuttle, and Gas fleets, each of whom is a member of the Teekay Senior Leadership Team.

ABB Delivers Vessel with First Onboard DC Grid System
ABB announced that the first vessel to feature Onboard DC (direct current) Grid has been delivered to Norwegian offshore owner Myklebusthaug Offshore by Kleven Yard. The Platform Supply Vessel (PSV) “Dina Star,” designed by Norwegian company Marin Teknikk, is 93 meter long with deadweight tonnage (DWT) approximately 5000 ton and will serve as a multipurpose oil field supply and construction vessel in the North Sea.

Stolt-Nielsen Limited reported unaudited results for the first quarter ended February 28, 2013. Net profit attributable to SNL shareholders in the first quarter was $1.5 million, with revenue of $519.4 million, compared with $18.2 million, with revenue of $510.9 million, respectively, in the fourth quarter of 2012. IHC Merwede Reveals Healthy Profit Margin
IHC Merwede has revealed a healthy net profit margin of 4.1% in 2012 and a positive sales forecast for the year ahead. The company develops and builds vessels, equipment and life-cycle support services for the dredging, mining and offshore industries, which have been performing well – despite the global economic situation and the knock-on effect for the maritime industry. In 2012, IHC Merwede reached a revenue of €895 million and a net profit of €37 million.
MTU Expands in India with Engine Test Cell Facility
The Tognum Group company MTU India opened a new engine test cell facility at its MTU India Service Center in Tathawade, Pune (India). The test cell’s dynamometer system is capable of testing all MTU engines up to Series 4000 engines in the range from 300 to 4,300kW, as per MTU test protocol, and for all applications. As part of a US Navy-funded project Virginia Tech College of Engineering researchers have unveiled a life-like, autonomous robotic jellyfish. The jellyfish, the size and weight of a grown man, is 5 foot 7 inches in length and wieghs 170 pounds. The project aims to develop self-powering, autonomous machines that support various missions such as surveillance and monitoring the undersea environment, as well as studying ocean life, mapping ocean floors and monitoring ocean currents.

NOL Names Its Largest Container Ship
The 14,000-TEU container ship was named 'APL Temasek' by Mrs Mary Tan, wife of the Republic’s President at a Singapore ceremony. APL Temasek is the first in a series of ten 14,000-TEU vessels on order by the Singapore-based shipping and logistics group.
