The latest East Coast wind farm support vessel has been launched – powered by Doosan. Channel Chieftain VI is a 19m aluminium wind farm support vessel built for Carlin Boat Charters which provides passenger and crew transfer services to wind farms across the UK and Northern Europe. Powered by a pair of 4V222TIM engines through Twin Disc gearboxes, developing 647kW at 2,100rpm supplied by WaterMota, Channel Chieftain will have a top speed of 25 knots and a service speed of 20 knots.

The larger Trident subs are 560 ft. long with a beam of 42 ft. and displace almost 17,000 tons. BAE Systems has begun construction on the first of two dump scows for Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Company. Employees and executives from both companies gathered yesterday for a ceremony to mark the start of construction for the first module, which will weigh approximately 87 tons. When complete, the entire first vessel will weigh about 1,600 tons and measure 295 feet long and 62 feet wide, with a draft of 17 feet.
