UK MOD announce Viking amphibious all-terrain vehicles to be regenerated under a £37-million contract with BAE Systems. Used extensively by the Royal Marines, the 99 Viking BVS10 vehicles, which can be launched straight from the stern of a ship and propelled through water before landing for a beach assault, are in line for a major overhaul by BAE Systems. They were deployed to Afghanistan in 2006 for their versatility across tough terrains before they were later replaced by Warthog.

Vyborg Shipyard & Wärtsilä sign contract for delivery of main electrical power plant, main and harbour gensets for icebreaker project 21900Đ. Vyborg Shipyard JSC is one of the largest shipbuilding companies of the North-Western Region of Russia with over 60-yearsâ experience in shipbuilding. Since the Shipyard was founded in 1948 it has built more than 200 different vessels with deadweights up to 12,000 tons, in total with displacement of over 1,300,000 tons.
Incat Design Ferries for US Shipyard Midship Marine

Incact Crowther contracted to design a pair of 25 m catamaran ferries for construction at Midship Marine in Louisiana. These vessels will follow on from the successful quartet of UltraJet boats built by the yard. The new vessels will have a similar configuration, with a half-height wheelhouse allowing a completely open upper passenger deck. 72 seats will be fitted to the upper deck, whilst the main deck passenger cabin will be fitted with seats for 131, plus a pair of wheelchair spaces.
