Oceanografia completes agreement to acquire 'OSA Goliath' from CarVal Investors. Oceanografia S.A. de C.V., one of Mexico’s largest leading vessel operators specializing in underwater survey, diving, pipe laying construction and maintenance operations has announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire the OSA Goliath from CarVal Investors. Oceanografia has successfully operated the OSA Goliath under charters from CarVal Investors since 2009.
Big Wilmington Harbor Dredging Contract for GLDD

Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Corporation (GLDD) gets Wilmington Harbor anchorage basin deepening contract from Army Corps of Engineers. The contract, worth US$16.4-million, is for the deepening of the anchorage basin portion of the existing navigation channel on the Cape Fear River in North Carolina. This project was awarded to by the Army Corps of Engineers Wilmington District and involves the excavation of sand, gravel and rock seabed material.

Coast Guard, Unified Command response crews complete grounded freighter 'Jireh' removal from Mona Island, Puerto Rico. The Jireh ran aground on Mona Island June 21, 2012 with 84 passengers and crew. The final cut-off-sections of the Jireh’s hull were lifted and transported by barge to the Port of Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, where all other sections of the freighter’s hull have been staged for further cutting and transfer to recycling companies.

On October 6 2012, Siemens began field testing of its new 154-meter rotor for the six-megawatt (MW) offshore wind turbine in Østerild, Denmark. The direct-drive wind turbine is equipped with the world's longest rotor blades – each blade measures 75 meters in length. With a record rotor diameter of 154 meters, each SWT-6.0-154 turbine can produce 25 million kilowatt hours of clean electricity in offshore locations, enough to supply 6,000 households.
