Yachting in Malta, Superyacht Industry Seminar
The International Superyacht Society (ISS) announced its collaboration with Wilfred Sultana & Associates in presenting the Superyacht Industry Seminar, The Way Forward, being conducted in Malta, Friday 29 April 2011. Similar to the seminar presented in 2009, foreign and local speakers will again take the podium. While two years ago the theme was āThe Superyacht Industryā, this year the forum focuses more on the Malta yachting scenario while underlining the demanding requisites of superyachts.

Search and Salvage Down Under
The Central Queensland Port Authority is undertaking one of the largest capital improvement projects in Australia. The RG Tanna Wharf Expansion Project involves extending the pier by 350 meters, widening existing berths, building a 1.3 kilometer onshore conveyor, and creating a new jetty approach. The cost of the construction portion alone is $128m. Marine contractor Realfās Diving and Salvage was hired to survey the area before the dredging operation could begin.

EU NAVFOR, Italian Navy Rescue Crew of Pirated Vessel
On the morning of March 9, marine authorities received a distress call from the MV Rak Afrikana stating that they were taking on large amounts of water due to what was described as a āhole in the hull.ā The vessel had been released from pirate control only hours earlier. The EU NAVFOR warship SPS Canarias was immediately sent to assist the stricken vessel and was later joined by the Italian warship ITS Zeffiro which arrived first and carried out the rescue operation.
