Resolve Refloats Cruise Ship in Northwest Passage
Resolve Marine Group refloated the Clipper Adventurer cruise ship recently. The vessel had run aground on rocks in Coronation Gulf, in Canada's Northwest Passage on Friday, August 27. The Resolve salvage team deployed four tugs at high tide, to free the stranded vessel. The Clipper had sustained several breeches to the hull when it ran aground the rocks last month, with passengers onboard. The Canadian Coast Guard evacuated the passengers without incident before the salvage operations began.

New Initiatives Probe Thruster Interaction Effects
MARIN has a long history in research into the performance of thrusters during Dynamic Positioning (DP) operations. Research on ducted propellers started in the late 1960s (Oosterveld) but a lot of today’s knowledge on thruster interaction effects was developed in the late 1980s and early 1990s (Nienhuis).
