Bureau Veritas Kick-starts LNG Bunkering
International classification society Bureau Veritas has published a comprehensive set of guidelines on LNG Bunkering, with the aim of speeding adoption of LNG as a ship’s fuel by kick-starting the LNG bunker chain. Jean-Francois Segretain, Technical Director, Marine and Offshore Division, Bureau Veritas says, “We really believe that LNG has great potential as a clean fuel for shipping. Andrew Weir to Support UK Navy in Antarctica
Andrew Weir Shipping Ltd. announced that it has been awarded the contract for the support and maintenance of HMS Protector (A173), following a competitive tendering process. HMS Protector is the Royal Navy’s Ice Patrol Ship, and is deployed on operations for 334 days per year. The vessel was chartered from commercial service by the Royal Navy in April 2011, and purchased outright in September 2013. HMS Protector’s home port is HMNB Devonport.

Stanford Secures Long Term PSV Charter in Mexico
Stanford Marine announced today from its Dubai headquarters that it has secured a three-year contract for one of its 87-meter Platform Supply Vessels (PSV), Stanford Bateleur, in Mexico. Trelleborg Systems for DP World Southampton
Trelleborg’s marine systems operation has been awarded the contract to supply more than 70 UE1000 Unit Element fender systems to DP World Southampton. The new systems, taking the total supplied by Trelleborg to the Southampton container terminal to over 110, will allow the terminal to berth the latest ultra-large containerships. When the project is complete, Southampton will offer 1.87 kilometers of deep water quay, with up to 16 meters depth alongside.
