Hyundai Merchant Marine, AAL Shipping Join for MPV Service
South Korea's Hyundai Merchant Marine (HMM) announced it is beginning its cooperation with Singapore based carrier, AAL Shipping, for Multi-Purpose Vessel (MPV) service. Specialist multipurpose carriers and long-standing collaborators, AAL and Hyundai Merchant Marine (HMM), are entering a global cooperation that will see both carriers expand their trade route coverage, sailings frequency, and MPV fleet capacity.

Anadarko Posts Quarterly Profit on Higher Crude Prices
Anadarko Petroleum Corp on Tuesday beat analysts' estimate for quarterly profit, helped by improved crude oil prices and lower costs. Crude prices are recovering from the lows hit in 2016 after a global crude oil glut. The company cut its 2018 capital investment outlook to a range of$4.1 billion to $4.5 billion, from $4.2 billion to $4.6 billion it previously forecast. Total full-year sales volume outlook was cut to a range of 238-248 million barrels of oil equivalent (MMBOE) from 245-255 MMBOE.
Crystal Symphony Completes Dramatic Redesign
Luxury cruise ship Crystal Symphony emerged from dry dock at German shipyard Lloyd Werft Bremerhaven, where a number of newly designed spaces, features and amenities were added over a month-long redesign. Rolls-Royce to Equip Baydelta’s New Hybrid Tug
Rolls-Royce said it will supply a hybrid propulsion arrangement for installation to a multipurpose tractor tug being built for Baydelta Maritime LLC at the Nichols Brothers Boat Builders shipyard in Washington State, U.S. The 100-foot long tug is due for delivery in the first quarter of 2019, and will feature the same ship assist and tanker escort capabilities of existing Delta Class harbor tugs but with improved towing performance.
Acta Marine Orders Second CSV at Ulstein Verft
The Netherlands based Acta Marine, which has a newbuild walk to work construction support vessel (CSV) nearing completion at Ulstein Verft in Norway, has ordered a second CSV at the yard. The second vessel is scheduled for delivery Q2 2019, and is of the SX195 design, the same as the first vessel, Acta Auriga, which will soon go to sea trials before embarking on a two-year charter for operations at BARD Offshore 1 wind farm Germany.

Baltic Index Posts First Gain in Seven Sessions
The Baltic Exchange's main sea freight index, tracking rates for ships carrying dry bulk commodities, rose for the first time in seven sessions on Tuesday, following a rebound in capesize rates. The overall index, which factors in rates for capesize, panamax, supramax and handysize shipping vessels, edged up 13 points, or 1.2 percent, to 1,095 points. The capesize index snapped its five-session losing streak and climbed 86 points, or 6 percent, to 1,519 points.
