Repasa Puts New Stan Tugs to Work

On October 13, Repasa's ASD Tugs assisted the berthing of a LNG tanker with great success. Yesterday the two Damen Stan Tugs 1606, outfitted as line handling boats, sailed to the buoy to receive another tanker for their first mission in Equatorial Guinea. For Repasa, this is a successful start of its new joint venture with P&O Maritime. The Damen Stan Tugs 1606, Red Ant and Red Bee, are the first Damen builds in Repasaâs fleet of workboats which also includes AHT and ASD tugs.

The second of four Damen ASD Tugs 2810 for ARC Towage (Spain) has left for Trinidad. There, the Guapo Warrior will join the fleet of Joint Venture company ARC Towage, which will provide the gas terminal berthing services for a significant energy industry player in Trinidad and Tobago. The tugs have been and are being built at Damen Shipyards Galati (Romania) and will be delivered by Damen Services teams in Trinidad and Tobago before January 1, 2015.

Four two-stroke ME-GI engines ordered for two LNGCs. MAN Diesel & Turbo has received an order for four MAN B&W 5G70ME-GI engines in connection with Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co.,Ltd. (DSME) agreeing a deal with the BW Group to build two LNG carriers. The technical engine specification complies with IMO Tier II, with options to include remedies for Tier III compliance at a later stage.
