Incat Crowther Designs Another Fast Cat Ferry
Coastal Fast Ferries in Tanzania, Africa. To be built by Richardson Devine Marine (RDM), Kilimanjaro III will build on the experienced gained in the operation of sisterships Kilimanjaro I and Kilimanjaro II, previously designed by Incat Crowther for Coastal Fast Ferries. Kilimanjaro I and II are significantly larger vessels than any fast ferries that have been deployed on the Zanzibar – Dar Es Salaam route, yet the vessels are nearly always running at full capacity.
Incat Crowther Designs Catamaran Crew Boat
Incat Crowther announced that the firm has been contracted to design an innovative 91.8 ft Wave Piercing Catamaran Crew Boat to support offshore oil and gas operations. Developed in conjunction with Topaz Shipbuilding for a large petroleum firm, the vessel features a new layout. As the original inventors of the Wave Piercing Catamaran, Incat Crowther proposed the platform in response to a challenging combination of operational requirements.
Incat Crowther Launches 59 ft Cat Passenger Ferry
Incat Crowther launched a 59 ft Catamaran Passenger Ferry for Victorian operator Inter Island Ferries. MV James Grant is the fourth vessel Incat Crowther has designed for the operator. This vessel is the first passenger ferry to feature Incat Crowther’s latest hull form, implemented on recent successful work boats. Performance is excellent with a top speed of 27 knots at full load with only 339kW. The vessel will carry 100 passengers, with boarding via side gates aft.

This vessel is one of the first projects to take advantage of Incat Crowther’s new USA office. Incat Crowther was selected to design a 78.7 ft. Catamaran Dinner Cruise Boat for the Sydney Harbor operator, VC Cruises. The vessel will be a low speed catamaran capable of carrying 400 passengers at a service speed of 10 knots fully loaded. The main deck cabin will contain loose seating for approx 176 passengers in various configurations to suit the desired function.
