Van Oord Cable-layer Launched by Damen
Van Oord’s new DP2 cable-laying vessel, Nexus, was officially launched at Damen Shipyards Galati on June 30. The 123 m multipurpose vessel will be deployed installing electricity cables for offshore wind farms. The international contractor for dredging, marine engineering and offshore energy projects has made the investment in this vessel to pursue its strategy to offer Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contracts to offshore wind farm developers.

Dinner Cruise Vessel Built for Sydney Harbor
Incat Crowther announced the launch of MV Epicure, a dinner cruise vessel operating on Sydney Harbor. The vessel, built by Aluminium Boats in Queensland, has been delivered to Epicure, a brand of the Spotless Group. Incat Crowther was approached to create a vessel catering to the high-end market. In response to the brief, Incat Crowther developed a heavily glazed vessel focused on a large forward atrium.

Fendercare Opens Expanded Great Yarmouth Base

BSMA Orders Transas Offshore Simulator
At the end of May 2014, Batumi State Maritime Academy (BSMA) and Transas Marine Black Sea signed a contract for supply and installation of the Transas Full Mission Offshore simulator. The simulator complex will be one of the most advanced in the Black Sea region. The full mission Transas offshore simulator with 270 degrees visualization is based on the Transas NTPRO 5000 software and will be used for training in dynamic positioning operations.

OW Bunker Launches 3rd Barge in Singapore
OW Bunker, a physical distributor and reseller of marine fuels, today announced the launch of its third barge in Singapore. According to the company, the move is part of its strategy to continue the expansion of its physical operation in the region. The vessel also has a Coriolis Flow Meter installed, which has been approved by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA). Marine Noel, operated by Sinanju Tankers Pte Ltd, is a modern, 4,700 DWT barge, built in 2012.
