OW Bunker continues physical expansion in Asia and has an MPA-approved Coriolis Flow Meter installed to ensure product quantity

OW Bunker, a physical distributor and reseller of marine fuels, today announced the launch of its third barge in Singapore. According to the company, the move is part of its strategy to continue the expansion of its physical operation in the region. The vessel also has a Coriolis Flow Meter installed, which has been approved by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA).

Marine Noel, operated by Sinanju Tankers Pte Ltd, is a modern, 4,700 DWT barge, built in 2012. The vessel has fast pumping rates and can distribute the full range of quality products to customers. It has been operational for OW Bunker from June 2014 and has made initial deliveries. In conjunction with using a Coriolis Flow Meter, customers are ensured of a fast and efficient service, as well as a guarantee on the quantity of products that they order, OW Bunker said.

Søren Christian Meyer, Vice President, OW Bunker, said, “The MPA has shown real leadership in championing the use of Mass Flow Meters as a means of driving industry professionalism, and we are committed to supporting them in this initiative both in Singapore and as part of our wider strategy for our global fleet.”

OW Bunker launched its physical operation in Singapore in 2013. In addition to Marine Noel, the company has two other bunker barges in the region; NEPAMORA and An Hong, both of which also have Coriolis Flow Meters installed and are in the process of obtaining the MPA’s approval.
