Fishing Trawler Launched in Nauta Shipyard
On June 2 Nauta Shiprepair Yard launched a newly built partly outfitted fishing trawler Rockall. It was third launching ceremony in Nauta Shipyard this year. Rockall is also the 10th unit which was built by Nauta for Karstensens Skibsvaerft AS. Rockall (B-436) is 69.9 m long and 14.2 m wide. Depth of the unit is 7.5 m. Astrid Fiskeri AS from Denmark will be the final owner of the ship. In terms of technical parameters, the vessel is similar to the Grateful, which was launched in September 2016.
Samsung Heavy Industries, DNV GL Partner for LNG Carrier Design
DNV GL and Samsung Heavy Industries. Co., Ltd (SHI) signed a joint development project (JDP) agreement focused on the development of new LNG carrier designs. Mun-Keun Ha, Senior Executive Vice President of SHI, and Tommy Bjørnsen, DNV GL’s Regional Manager Maritime Korea & Japan, signed the agreement at the DNV GL Group head office in Høvik, during Nor-Shipping week. The JDP aims to develop two 30K LNG carrier designs, one with membrane type LNG tanks and one with type-C (pressurized) LNG tanks.

FPSO to Achieve First Oil from Libra Field in July
Teekay informs that the FPSO Pioneiro de Libra arrived May 17 in Brazilian territorial waters. The FPSO unit, owned through a 50/50 joint venture between Odebrecht Oil & Gas and Teekay Offshore, will be the first to produce oil in the Libra Block which covers more than 1,500 square kilometers in the Santos Basin and has estimated reserves of 8-12 billion barrels of recoverable oil. The first oil is scheduled for July.
