Ellicott Tallies Three Custom Dredger Contracts
Ellicott Dredges, LLC announced contracts for three new custom-designed dredges, all scheduled to be delivered before the end of 2017. In the first instance a major international chemical company selected Ellicott to build a custom electric bucketwheel dredge to mine salt in a very hard digging application. The new dredge, which will increase the mine’s output per operating hour and reduce its cost per ton of salt produced, will become the mine’s primary dredge.
MTS Expands Fleet With Multipurpose Landing Craft

In the wake of Hurricane Matthew, the Port of Savannah has been reopened Thursday to two-way traffic during daylight hours as response crews continue to identify, remove, replace or repair the surrounding navigational infrastructure. “Our Coast Guard crews have been working diligently to restore operations in the Port of Savannah, and it was because of their dedication that we were able to open the port to two-way traffic,” said Coast Guard Cmdr.
