Container Corp of India June-qtr Profit Down
State-owned Container Corporation of India recorded a 14 percent drop in standalone net profit for the three months to the end of June, the company said in a statement.
Port of Kiel on Course for Growth
The Port of Kiel is on course for growth after upping handling in both the cargo and passenger sectors by nearly 2 percent in the first half of 2016. The port’s various quay and terminal facilities handled 3.1 million tons of incoming and outgoing cargo – an increase of 1.8 percent over the same period of last year - while in the passenger sector 886,000 people disembarked or boarded a ferry or a cruise ship in the port – a rise of 1.9 percent.
New Surface Effect Ship from AMC
Specialist aluminum boatbuilder, Aluminium Marine Consultants (AMC), has added a new surface effect ship (SES) design to its portfolio which is designed by Norway’s Espeland and Skomedal Naval Architects (ESNA) and geared toward the crew transfer vessel market. The new ESNA Tern SES CTV is a next generation high performance crew transfer vessel, offering turbine access in up to 2.5m significant wave height, with a maximum speed above 40 knots and greatly reduced speed loss in high seas.

First Ship Bunkers LNG in Rotterdam
The bunkering of the Ternsund was initiated today in Rotterdam, marking the first seagoing vessel to bunker liquefied natural gas (LNG) at the port. As a result the brand new product tanker of the Swedish shipping company Terntank also receives the first Rotterdam 'LNG bunkering incentive’; a premium amounting to a discount of 10 percent on the seaport dues. On Sunday, the Ternsund arrived for the first time in Rotterdam to unload naphtha and gas oil at Vopak in the Botlek.
