Rob Hogan has been appointed vice president of manufacturing at the Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) Newport News Shipbuilding division. Since beginning his career as a welder in 1976, Hogan has held leadership positions at all levels of production and construction. Most recently, he served as director of manufacturing for steel fabrication. Hogan is a graduate of The Apprentice School and earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Strayer University.

Tuco Delivers Pilot Boat to Sea Charter
Tuco Marine has delivered the first vessel specially designed and equipped for pilot services to the shipping company Sea Charter A/S. The vessel, a ProZero 12m DC built at Tuco´s facilities in Faaborg, has been chartered to the Danish National Pilot Service Company DANPILOT, who will use the boat in a new flexible internal boat program. The ProZero 12m DC will enter service at several of DANPILTS pilot stations during the charter.
Sortland Named CEO of Global Maritime Group
Global Maritime Group has appointed Peder Sortland as its first CEO. Sortland comes from the post of CEO at Apply ASA, and knows part of the group well from holding the position as chair of Global Maritime AS since April 2014. Before joining Apply in 2012, Sortland was chief executive of Ross Offshore and Subsea Technology Group. He has also managed the Norwegian unit of Subsea 7, and held the position as chair in Ocean Installer.

MAN Diesel & Turbo has launched its PA6 B Offshore GenSet (OG). Aimed at the offshore drilling segment, the new engine is specifically targeted at semisubmersible drilling rigs. The PA6 B is a four-stroke, medium-speed engine built at MAN Diesel & Turbo’s St. Nazaire, France facility from where the company has sold the engine for many years. St. Nazaire will assemble individual PA6 B OG units together with an alternator in constructing the new, offshore GenSets.
