Outland Technology Announces New Underwater HD Camera
Outland Technology announced the production of a new underwater HD camera today, model UWC-625, which provides live video and recording in HD 1080P resolution. The company said the camera can be used with fixed installations and ROVs, as well as used for handheld diver recording. The UWC-625 has a 2.375" diameter and a 5" length, with a depth rating of 500 meters and an optional 2000 meters available.

THOME Group's Junior Officer Recruitment Now Self-Sufficient
International ship management company THOME Group has become self-sufficient in recruiting junior officers, the company announced today, saying it managed to fill all of its 2014 junior officer vacancies from within its own pool of trained seafarers developed through an in-house cadet training program. Launched in 2005 under THOME’s “Human Element” initiative, the Thome Global Cadet Program has trained 1,350 cadets from at least 12 countries in Asia, Europe and the Far East.

It may be months before a final verdict is issued on the size of the fine BP Plc will pay under the Clean Water Act for its 2010 Gulf of Mexico oil spill, lawyers said on Tuesday after the last phase of the trial ended. U.S. District Court Judge Carl Barbier in New Orleans, Louisiana, is scheduled to receive post-trial briefs from government prosecutors and BP through April 24. Barbier might rule before then although a decision after all briefs are filed is more likely, the lawyers said.
