Port of New Orleans Leads Clean Water Effort

USCG Orders 8th National Security Cutter
The Ingalls Shipbuilding division of Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) was awarded a $499.8 million fixed-price incentive contract from the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) to build an eighth National Security Cutter (NSC), Midgett (WMSL 757). Ingalls has already delivered four NSCs to the USCG and currently has three more under construction: James (WMSL 754), Munro (WMSL 755) and Kimball (WMSL 756), scheduled for delivery 2015, 2016 and 2018, respectively. Midgett is expected to be deliver in 2019.

Willard to Build Riverine Boats for Nepal Army
Willard Marine, Inc. has been awarded a contract to supply the Nepal Army with two newly designed aluminum riverine boats. Under the contract, issued by the U.S. Navy Foreign Military Sales (FMS) office, Willard Marine is producing two 31.5-foot aluminum riverine boats, each powered by Yanmar engines and Hamilton water jets. Willard Marine will also provide comprehensive onsite crew training regarding the design, operation, maintenance and repair of the boats.
Tug Upgrade at Tianjin Port
As a part of its tug fleet upgrade program, Tianjin Port of China retained Robert Allan Ltd. in early 2012 to develop several new tug designs to suit its operational requirements. The program involved five tugs of three distinct designs. The recent delivery of the RAstar 3500 class tugs Jin Gang Lun 28 and Jin Gang Lun 29 marked the conclusion of this program. The two latest vessels were constructed by a local shipyard, CCCC Bomesc Marine Industry Co. Ltd. in Tianjin city.
