Kooiman BV Contracts for Survey, Life-Extension of SWATH
The Dutch Pilotage Service contracted with Kooiman BV for a major maintenance survey and life-extension of its SWATH vessel Cetus en Persues. The SWATH, a catamaran vessel measuring 25.7 x 14.3 x 2.7m was built in 2005. Combined with regular special survey, Shipyard Kooiman is providing refit services to extend the life of the vessel, with a net total increase in propulsion power. Additional modifications include electrical, cooling water systems, interior and accommodations.
BSM to Manage 6 Maersk Line Box Ships
Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement (BSM) announced that it will take over full management of six containerships on behalf of Maersk Line A/S. Presently managed in-house by Maersk, the six vessels ranging in size from 2,500 to 11,000 TEU. Over the next five years, BSM’s Ship Management Center in Hamburg, Germany will be responsible for all aspects of management including crewing, technical operations, safety performance, environmental performance and energy efficiency.
