As severe weather continues to hit the U.K., especially in the Southwest, large shipping delays are expected. According to a Met Office U.K. weather forecast, a ridge of high pressure in eastern areas at first will soon give way to a deep Atlantic low, bringing gales or severe gales to most areas with storms for a time in southwestern coastal areas.

The U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) said a fourth person has been confirmed dead following a capsizing 75 miles northeast of West Palm Beach, Fla., Thursday. Watchstanders at Coast Guard Seventh District command center received a report Thursday from the Royal Netherlands Navy Zeeland of a capsized 24-foot center console vessel with seven suspected migrants atop of the hull. The Coast Guard Cutter Richard Etheridge and an HC-130, from Air Station Clearwater, Fla., were diverted to the scene.

At today's Capital Markets Update, Statoil presents its plan for reduced capital expenditure by more than $5 billion (USD) from 2014-16 compared to previous plans.
