Reuters – Unionized container truck drivers at Canada's largest port voted on Saturday to join a strike by their non-unionized colleagues, who walked off the job on Wednesday over a long-running dispute about pay and services. Unifor, which represents about 400 container truck drivers at Port Metro Vancouver , said its drivers voted overwhelmingly in favor of joining the four-day-old work action. The unionized workers must give 72-hour notice before walking off the job.

Reuters – Ukraine has said its navy's fleet of 10 warships in the Crimean port of Sevastopol had not left the port and remained loyal to the government in Kiev. Earlier, Ukraine said it had withdrawn coastguard vessels from Sevastopol and another Crimean port and stationed them elsewhere. Russian forces have seized Crimea, an isolated peninsula, where Russia 's Black Sea Fleet also has its headquarters.

The new offshore service vessel has been built to the MT6022XL Norwegian design. MOL Ink Deal to Build, Charter 300m LNG Carrier

Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) inform it has signed a Head of Agreement on joint ownership and 20-year charter contract for a newbuilding LNG carrier with Tokyo LNG Tanker Co., Ltd. At the same time, MOL signed a contract with Japan Marine United Corporation to build the new vessel. The ship is slated for completion in 2017. MOL will manage the new carrier, which will transport LNG mainly from the Cove Point LNG Project in the United States to Tokyo Gas facilities.

The Canadian Navy Fleet Replenishment ship 'HMCS Protecteur' has been taken in tow in rough seas by the U.S. navy cruiser USS Chosin, after an engine fire left it drifting some 600 km from Pearl Harbor, reports CBC News. Citing Commodore Bob Auchterlonie, the commander of Canada's Pacific naval fleet, CBC reports that the USS Michael Murphy, is accompanying Protecteur as the ships make their way at five knots or less [9 km/h] toward Pearl Harbor, 630 km away.

The U.S. Navy Liaison Office (MARLO) in Bahrain has issued an alert following an attack by two skiffs on a merchant vessel in the Gulf of Oman, advises GAC. The attack is reported to have taken place on or about 280902Z FEB 2014 at the position 22:28N - 060:51.5E, GULF OF OMAN. The skiffs are reported to have each had 2-3 personnel onboard, some wearing masks. Ladders were sighted and the skiffs paralleled the vessel's course and speed.
