Vard Orders Parat Electric Steam & Hot Water Boilers
During the last month, PARAT Halvorsen AS has collected four new boiler plant orders from the Vard Group and their multipurpose platform ships of Vard 1 08 design. Part of and included in PARATâs scope of supply will be combined electric steam and hot water boilers with capacity each of 1,250kW. In normal operation, the boiler is a part of the hot water and heat recovery loop and supplies necessary additional heat to the HVAC, sanitary and tank heating systems on board.

N-KOM Lays Keel for Qatarâs First Liftboat
Nakilat-Keppel Offshore & Marine (N-KOM) has achieved another milestone with the keel laying of its first liftboat newbuild project, awarded in July 2014 by long-time client Gulf Drilling International (GDI). The project marks the shipyardâs first foray into the offshore jack-up newbuild market and is also the first such project to be undertaken in Qatar. Once completed in 2015, the liftboat will support GDIâs growing offshore fleet of jack-up rigs.
STS Young Endeavour Prepares for World Voyage
The Royal Australian Navy operated Sail Training Ship, Young Endeavour, is undergoing maintenance work in preparation for a 12-month world circumnavigation. It is the vesselâs first deployment of this nature in more than 20 years.
