USN Chooses Hoffer System for Energy Dashboard
Hoffer Flow Controls, Inc. recently received a new contract from the U. S. Navy Sea Systems Command to supply fuel flow measurement systems as a part of the U.S. Navy’s Energy Dashboard Program. Hoffer fuel measurement systems are currently incorporated into the “Energy Dashboard Proof-of-Concept System” aboard several of the US Navy DDG51 class ships. The new contract will expand significantly the number of ships equipped with these systems.
USCG Rescues Three from Burning Boat

Petrobras Shelves Debt Sales in Wake of Scandals
Brazilian state-controlled oil company Petroleo Brasileiro SA, which has been hit by a series of scandals, shelved plans to sell debt in local and international debt markets later this year, a source with direct knowledge of the situation said on Monday. Petrobras planned to sell as much as 3 billion reais ($1.35 billion) in so-called infrastructure notes by the end of June, the source told Reuters.

Port of Cleveland’s Express Service Underway
With the departure of the vessel Fortunagracht out of Antwerp, Belgium over the weekend, the Cleveland-Europe Express service between the Cleveland Harbor and Europe via the Saint Lawrence Seaway has officially launched. The vessel is loaded with breakbulk and containerized cargo and is set to dock in Cleveland around April 17. The Cleveland-Europe Express is the only regular, scheduled international container and noncontainerized cargo service on the Great Lakes.
