HOSTAR Moves WWII PT Boat
PT-728, one of the few remaining examples of the torpedo-armed fast attack craft that helped America win WWII, is no ordinary boat. To help move the vessel carefully, HOSTAR Marine used a hydraulic yard trailer. Portraying various sister boats, PT-728 has played a starring role in numerous movies and documentaries, most famously as PT-73 in the television show McHale's Navy. She is the only U.S. Coast Guard-inspected PT boat licensed to take passengers for hire.
New Blyth Workcat for Baltic Survey Work
Finnish survey company FCG (Finnish Consulting Group) Ltd. has placed an order for a new GRP survey boat from Blyth Workcats Ltd of Canvey Island, U.K. The 14-meter catamaran will be known as the Nordic Sonar and it is now being built to meet the specialized needs of the FCG survey teams. It will be based in Turku, Finland and is being fitted with comprehensive heating system and insulation suitable for its use in the demanding conditions around the Finnish coast and the northern Baltic.
Cargotec Buys Aker Mooring and Loading Systems Business
Aker Solutions today agreed to sell its mooring and loading systems business to Cargotec for an enterprise value of NOK 1.4 billion, or about €180 million. The unit, known for the Pusnes brand name, provides mooring equipment, loading and offloading systems, as well as deck machinery for the global offshore and shipping markets. Aker Solutions will book a gain of about NOK 1 billion from the sale.

A partnership including Calgary-based Ferus Natural Gas Fuels has unveilled plans to build in Florida the first U.S. terminal to supply liquefied natural gas as fuel for cargo ships, reports 'The Calgary Herald'. The Eagle LNG partnership was announced in September 2013, and includes Ferus, General Electric Co. and Clean Energy Fuels Corp., the transportation-fuel company co-founded by billionare investor T.
