Greenpeace Arctic Protesters Under Lock & Key
Twenty-eight Greenpeace International activists, as well as a freelance photographer and a freelance videographer, were taken to the Lenin district court in Murmansk in handcuffs, where they were placed in a cage and provided inadequate translators. Of the 30, a total of 22 were remanded in custody for two months pending an investigation into piracy charges, while eight were detained for three days pending a new hearing.
Port of New Orleans Elect Daniel Packer Chairman
The Board of Commissioners of the Port of New Orleans has elected Daniel F. Packer chairman; also Gregory Rusovich as Vice Chairman, and Scott Cooper as Secretary-Treasurer. Gov. Bobby Jindal appointed Mr. Packer to the Board in January of 2010. He succeeds Mr. Joseph F. Toomy, whose term as chairman expired this month but will continue to serve as a commissioner. Mr. Packer, who will serve a nine-month term as chairman, is a native of Mobile, Ala.

Tero Marine to Install Software for RK Offshore
Norwegian maritime IT company Tero Marine has won a contract with RK Offshore Management Ltd. to install its TM Master software on 26 offshore vessels. The leasing contract covers 26 RK Offshore supply ships, with the possibility of extending this to an additional 15 vessels.
