Promas is a Rolls-Royce propulsion system that integrates the open-water propeller and rudder of a conventional shaftline into a hydrodynamically-efficient entity. Intellian launched Aptus, a new graphical interface based PC software for monitoring and control of Intellian VSAT antennas which it says simplifies use and provides antenna operational data. Damen Delivers Modular Cutter Suction Dredger
On June 1, the Cutter Suction Dredger Susanna II was handed over to its owner, Dutch dredging contractor Verboon Maasland. All members of the Verboon team were present with their families to celebrate the completion of the vessel and inspect the dredger: a renewed acquaintance. The Susanna II is the second stationary dredger for Verboon Maasland. The first one, Susanna, was also built by Damen Dredging – yet this was some 32 years ago.

GD Bath Ironworks to Build Four DDG 51 Destroyers
The U.S. Navy has awarded General Dynamics Bath Iron Works a contract valued at US$2.8-billion for the construction of four Arleigh Burke-class destroyers, with an option for a fifth ship. "This contract adds four ships to our workload in a fiscally challenging and highly competitive environment, and provides a clearer picture of our near-term future," said Jeff Geiger , president of Bath Iron Works.
Damen Dredger Starts Something in Africa
The new Damen CSD250 dredger delivered to Nigeria has already started on making its own pond, eventually to become a canal. The CSD250 has started creating a canal, which will flow eventually in the Benin River, and through to the Atlantic Ocean. The canal is initiated by Ossiomo Investments, the owner of the industrial park. On the park a fertilizer plant will be constructed, amongst other petrochemical plants.
