Survival Craft Invests & Expands in North America
Survival Craft Inspectorate, a global provider of emergency marine evacuation systems, has acquired an industry innovation widely used in the cruise ship industry and announced plans to open two new offices in North America. The energy sector specialist expects these latest developments to add £10m (US$ 15.8m) to its turnover in the next three years. The opening of new offices in Fort Lauderdale in the United States and St John’s in Canada will create 10 jobs.
Strategic Marine Wins Offshore Wind Contracts
Australian shipbuilder Strategic Marine has started 2012 strongly, signing contracts to build eight 20 metre offshore wind farm crew transfer vessels (including options) for the European market. The company will also be establishing a Service Network in Europe to support the vessels it will be supplying to clients in the region. The vessels will be managed by Njord Offshore, a subsidiary of Norse Management UK, which has a long history in the marine industry.

Wesmar, a U.S. manufacturer of sonar equipment, has introduced its new line of trawl sonar catch sensors. ‘They are the fastest and most powerful on the market,” said Dennis Soderberg, WESMAR’s Vice President of the Electronics Division.
