Quantum Stabilizers wont the contract for the refit and upgrade of the hydraulic stabilizer systems for the USCG’s next four WMEC 270 medium endurance cutters. After development and delivery of the first system that was installed on the USCG’s medium endurance cutter TAMPA, the option for the next four cutters was exercised. The entire contract is for all 13 vessels, the first vessel was the TAMPA and the remaining 12 vessels are split into a four year option.

Spains's Empresa Naviera Elcano, S.A., aninternational shipping group, placed an order for two medium-speed MAN L27/38 engines as part of a propulsion package for a new vessel. The units will be constructed at the MAN Diesel & Turbo facility in Frederikshavn, Denmark, and will power a 7,000-dwt asphalt and oil-products tanker to be built at Sedef Shipyard in Turkey. DY4001, lead ship of CROWN 63 - 63,500 DWT bulk carrier - successfully completed all sea trial items and began to make her return voyage on February 17. BV to issue its 1st EEDI certificate in Asia. The vessel’s speed trial has been proved to be beyond design prediction and met all the guarantee items specified in contract for delivery.
