Singapore Shipyard Building SBM Offshore DSCV
Keppel Singmarine in Singapore contracted to design & construct a multi-purpose Diving Support & Construction Vessel (DSCV) for delivery Q2 2013. The new DSCV (Diving Support & Construction Vessel) will be a MT-6024 design from Marin Teknikk in Norway, built to DNV rules and international regulations. The vessel will have a class III DP system and be equipped with a fully integrated 12-man saturation diving system capable of operating in up to 300-metres of water.

Petrobas Strike Gas Offshore Brazil
Petrobras's preliminary drilling in the Jupiter Nordeste well, in the Santos Basin, confirms presence of gas & condensate. The new well, which is still being drilled, has reached 5,438 meters. It is located in ultra-deep waters of block BM-S-24, at a water depth of 2,161 meters, and 275 km off the coast of Rio de Janeiro. So far, well 3-BRSA-967A-RJS has detected an oil column of 176 meters in rocks of excellent permeability and porosity.

Great Lakes Coal Trade Down 10-Plus Percent in September
Shipments of coal on the Great Lakes totaled 3,049,705 tons in September, an increase of 6.3 percent compared to August, but a drop of 10.1 percent compared to a year ago. Compared to the month’s 5-year average, loadings were down 14.5 percent. Overseas shipments from Superior, Wisconsin, continued in September. Coal shipped to Québec City for reloading into oceangoing vessels totaled 192,000 tons. For the season, the overseas trade from Superior Midwest Energy Terminal totals 1,173,000 tons.
