EU: New Inland Waterways Protection Guidelines

Tankship 'Stolt Valor' to be Scrapped at ASRY
Decision made: ASRY, Bahrain, to scrap 'Stolt Valor, seriously damaged by explosion & fire in the Arabian Gulf in mid-March 2012. The 2004-built 25,268dwt chemical tanker arrived at the yard under tow at the end of June, following a major salvage operation carried out by Holland’s Smit. Initially, she was to be inspected and assessed for damage with a view to returning the vessel to a seaworthy state for towing to a ship-breaking yard.
Cal Dive Nets International Contracts
Cal Dive International charters out diving vessel & also wins 3 Australian saturation diving contracts. The company's diving vessel Kestrel is chartered to a major contractor in Mexico to perform repair and maintenance work for Pemex. The charter started in mid-October and has a fixed term of two years with an additional one-year option. The charter is expected to result in EBITDA of approximately $10 million per year during the two-year charter term.
China Shipyard Gets Five ACL CONRO Orders
Atlantic Container Line (ACL) contracts Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding to build world's largest largest RORO/Containerships (CONRO's). The G4 (Generation 4) vessels will replace ACL's existing fleet of G3 CONROs operating in the company's transatlantic service. All five vessels will be delivered in 2015. The new vessels will be the first of their type ever built. They will be bigger, faster, greener and more efficient than their predecessors.
