Arctic-Ready Seismic Workboat Davits
Norway’s Ulstein yard has delivered the next generation seismic research vessel Polarcus Amani to marine geophysical company Polarcus. The 92 mloa vessel is of the SX134 design and is designed and built for operations in Arctic waters. Vestdavit has supplied two PLR-11000 workboat davits and one PLR-3600 MOB davit for the vessel. Vestdavit is proud to be the sole supplier of workboat davits to Polarcus’ fleet of eight advanced seismic vessels.

Australian Customs Opt for Vestdavit
Vestdavit has been contracted by shipbuilder Austal to supply its state-of-theart PLAR-6500 davits to eight new Cape Class Patrol Boats (CCPBs) to be built for the Australian Customs and Border Protection Service. Austal will build the 58.1 m Cape Class Patrol Boats at its shipyard in Henderson, Western Australia for delivery between March 2013 and August 2015. The patrol boats will play a significant role in protecting Australia’s borders from multiple maritime threats.
Hapag-Lloyd: Revenue, Volume Up in Q1
Despite the persistently challenging environment in the industry, Hapag-Lloyd increased its transport volume and revenue in the first quarter of 2012. The average freight rate was $1,484/TEU in Q1, down around 5% on the previous year’s figure of $ 1,563/TEU. Revenue totaled EUR 1.6 billion in the first three months of this year – an 8% rise compared to Q1 2011. This was attributable to an increase of approximately 11% in the transport volume, which climbed to 1.32 million TEU.
Fugro-Geoteam Opts for Vestdavit Support
Fugro-Geoteam, with headquarters in Oslo, is one of the world’s larger offshore seismic contractors operating 8 seismic vessels world-wide. Several of the vessels are equipped with as many as five Vestdavit davit systems. New Regulations Drive Market Step Change
