The vessels’ operator, SEACOR Marine, is a progressive company that pioneered the use of fast catamarans in the offshore industry with the commissioning of SEACOR Cheetah in January 2008, and SEACOR Cougar in April 2009. Vizada Signs Agreement with Danos Shipping
Vizada and Vizada Elite Partner SRH Marine Electronics S.A. have signed a 24-month agreement with Danaos Shipping Co. Ltd to equip the company’s fleet of vessels with a full broadband communications system. The partners will provide 1 GB connectivity over Inmarsat FleetBroadband terminals, connectivity will be further enhanced by Vizada XChange and the Vizada Crew PC for optimal internet usage. Austal Sets Keel of U.S. Navy's JHSV 3
On May 3, 2012, Austal held a keel-laying ceremony for the third Joint High Speed Vessel (JHSV), one of nine Austal-designed 103-meter U.S. Navy Joint High Speed Vessels under contract with the U.S. Navy. Austal invited Representative Jo Bonner to authenticate the keel. He was assisted by Jeff Cellon who is an “A” Class welder that has been part of the Austal team since May of 2010. A traditional keel-laying ceremony marks the first significant milestone in the construction of the ship.
MSC Hospital Ship Departs for Humanitarian Mission
Military Sealift Command hospital ship USNS Mercy (T-AH 19) departed Naval Station San Diego May 3, beginning its part in Pacific Partnership 2012, a four-and-a-half month humanitarian and civic assistance mission to Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam and Cambodia. Mercy is crewed by 70 civil service mariners working for MSC who operate and navigate the ship while Navy planners and medical personnel plan and execute the mission.

Aker Solutions to Deliver Services to Kvaerner's Contract
On May 3, 2012 Kvaerner ASA announced its intent to use Aker Solutions as a sub-contractor for its engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for the topside for the Edvard Grieg platform (formerly Luno). The field is operated by the Swedish oil and gas exploration and production company Lundin. Aker Solutions will deliver design engineering and procurement services from the company's offices in Oslo, Norway and Mumbai, India, with support from Kvaerner.
London Olympics – UK Warship Takes Station
HMS Ocean will berth at Greenwich in east London where she will act as a launch pad for eight Lynx helicopters and a base for Royal Marine snipers in the the final phase of the exercise 'Olympic Guardian', which began earlier this week in Weymouth and in the airspace over the capital. During the Games the ship will also accommodate 300 military personnel who are providing security at nearby Greenwich Park, and engage with Londoners by hosting public visits.
